Under the leadership of Logan and Todd, two geniuses on the functions of the body, I was introduced to the life changing principles, strategies and techniques of Applied Functional Science (AFS). This new learning, combined with my hunger to help people improve, lead me to creating PRIME360. When the concept was born it was initially to help the people of my community, which I've now done, but my goals have expanded; I want to reach and help as many people as I possibly can, which has driven me to online training. I have an eagerness to share my passion and knowledge on how true health is achieved, by combining functional exercises and optimal nutrition. I have personally worked with all different ages, all different impairments, and all different fitness levels including athletes in the NBA, NFL and MLB.       <image:caption>My name is Toby Martin, with shoes on, I may stand at 5’3”. From a young age, I knew I was always going to be the smallest player on the floor. I remember my dad telling me that because of this, I had to be the best ball handler, shooter, and smartest player. This has always stuck with me and because of this I relentlessly worked on my game, on the court and in the weight room.   I went to Maranacook High School in Readfield Maine, where I played three varsity sports and truly value the experience of playing three sports and encourage other athletes to do the same. I earned a division II scholarship to play basketball at Franklin Pierce and competed in the national championship my senior year. I continued my basketball career professionally in Germany for three years. I have spent the last five years coaching at the college level; two at the University of Southern Maine and the last three at Bowdoin College. It was through coaching at the college level, that I realized my passion is with small groups and individuals. I love putting together programs with my clients based on their goals and needs. The relationship built through these workouts is extremely rewarding.   As the director of Basketball Performance at PRIME360, this part of business exists for 2 reasons: 1)      To show the value of our sports specific training in the studio and how relates to the athlete’s performance and success on the court. 2)    To instill confidence in each athlete.  I am not able to GIVE you the confidence you need, but I am CONFIDENT that through these training sessions you will practice and learn the tools needed to instill confidence in YOURSELF! At that same time I began coaching my oldest son’s youth basketball team. I found a great amount of joy and excitement teaching others movement on and off the court. I decided it was time to do something with my passion so I pursued my personal training certification through ACE. I got hired at Planet Fitness and became more in love with helping others to feel good, move good, feel strong and confident in themselves; but I still didn’t feel whole. It didn’t take long and I landed a job in Brunswick. At that same time I had enrolled at Central Maine Community College for the physical fitness specialist degree. Upon finishing up my degree at CMCC I had done an internship at PRIME360 with BJ. BJ’s philosophies and mine were exactly the same. I became a trainer/coach because I can impact people’s lives in positive ways. I can assist them in creating healthy sustainable habits aiding in longevity. ————————————————————————————————— I’ll leave you with three of my favorite quotes.  -Become comfortable in the uncomfortable.  -Push harder than yesterday if you want a different tomorrow.  -Your success breeds my success.</image:title>

Growing up I played football, basketball, track, and baseball. My passion for sports has led to several injuries throughout my playing career.
